Hyundai Elantra: Rear Seat Belt / Rear Seat Belt Buckle

Repair procedures
Replacement
1.
Remove the rear seat cushion assembly.
(Refer to Rear Seat - "Rear Seat Assembly")
2.
Remove the rear seat belt buckle.
[LH, CTR]
1)
Press the lock pin, separate the rear seat belt connector (A).

2)
Loosen the mounting bolt, remove the rear seat belt buckle (A).
Tightening torque :
39.2 - 53.9 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb-ft)

[RH]
1)
Press the lock pin, separate the rear seat belt connector (A).

2)
Loosen the mounting bolt, remove the rear seat belt buckle (A).
Tightening torque :
39.2 - 53.9 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb-ft)

3.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
   
The buckle and tongue of different types are impossible to be latched, so check that the buckle & tongue have the same types.
Distinguish the rear side seat buckle from the center seat buckle before latching.
If foreign materials are stuck in the inside button of buckle, it may cause interference during the latching process, leading to a functional problem (for example - beverages (viscous drinks), toothpicks, sand, plastic, vinyl, metal pieces, etc.)
After latching the buckle and tongue, check the fastening force using a Push - Pull Gauge (fastening force: 3kgf or less).

    WARNING

    Make sure that the seatback is locked in place when using the rear center seat belt.
